I am trained as a Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in Art Therapy. Art therapy is used to access complex thoughts and feelings, and externalize them through self-expression. As a therapist awaiting confirmation of my Art Therapy credentials, I am trained in using the arts (drawing, painting, collage, fiber arts, journaling, photography, poetry, sculpture, etc) to aid my clients in identifying and expressing their thoughts and feelings. Art is the language of images, and as such, bypasses the verbal processing centers of the brain, making it universally accessible to clients of all ages and abilities. I have honed my skills as a humanistic clinician to tailor a unique experience for each client and their needs. I have found that those around me appreciate my tactful, straightforward, and candid approach, knowing that I will always be honest with them.
